Did you ever read Whose Names Are Unknown by Sonora Babb. It covers much the same material as John Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath and is a wonderful book. Rumor is, John Steinbeck saw her research when he was researching his book and beat her ito publication. She lost her deal because there wasn’t room for both. Her contract was cancelled.
Yeah, the good old days…
And we complain if our computer takes more than two seconds to get us to a web site. At least I do.
My human said, “I will never long for those good old days again!”
By the way, Mr. Joyce, love your new blog design. Very classy!
Danny designed it for me.

Ibeth, that sounds very interesting and worth checking out.
I have read it a couple of times.
The Grapes of Wrath is pure poetry to my eyes. But I will have to check that book out.
Living here in Ireland, I can guarantee who you say is true. I as a child listened to my grandparents tell stories similar to what you have to say.
Good read. A fan!
Thanks Collette. Give my best to Tim O’Brien.
